In China during holiday season, people dont queue up to sit in the lap of Santa Claus, but rather queue to sit next to an astronaut Hello Kitty that operates, well, a Hello Kitty time machine.

Hello my friend, I write to you from Los Angeles, California. I collect Hello Kitty and I was searching to buy a Hello Kitty astronaut Toy when I got directed to your picture. Oh my goodness, this is such a wonderful picture. I know some years have passed since you took this picture. May I ask the story behind this picture. As far as you know is it still there and where is it located. If you could kindly tell me more information I would really appreciate at. If you can tell me is there any other Hello Kitty sightseeing that is located I would really appreciate it. I have been looking at your blog an I really love it. I hope to hear from you soon.
Your new friend, Ruthie
Hi Ruthie,
This was a temporary exhibition at “Langham Place” in Mong Kok, Hong Kong. I fear they removed it quickly after New Year in 2011.
Every year Langham Place (a mall) has two temporary small theme parks set up, one for Gregorian New Year (Jan 1) and the other for Chinese New Year (usually end of February). It’s great fun and free, though always a bit crowded.
